Zabeni - his wife, who had always made him proud. Ayden - who keeps him busy enough to stave off his worries. The Shadow of Paragon - trusty business partners and reliable traders. Hex - Zabeni's pet tiger, who continues his search for his master's belongings in Ashenvale. Terra - his steadfast raptor companion. Lady Taceo - who continues to fund his makeshift "goods shop." Orgrimmar and its colorful inhabitants. The hardships and carefree times which have made him the haggard troll he is today.

Taceo is thankful for: Her parents and their unconditional love and support. Nikolaos - her best friend, fiance and better half. Grymtohr, Berien, Eal', Dalem, Rhathgryn, Rokur, and Laceraito - awesome companions and fellow adventurers (For the HORDE!). SCRRAWL Club! Successful raids. The Horde. Lucius and Zoom. Sturdy shields, sharp weapons, sturdy tanks, and watchful healers. Mana potions. Dalaran food and lodging. Matching armor.

Greyer is thankful for: Being able to wake up every morning. His family - Mother, Father, Faolan, and Farran - even though they are no longer with him. The Lyall Tannery, its legacy, and the safety it offers each night. Spritzer, the young bartender who helped maintain his sanity. Atalanta, his unforgettable childhood friend and sweetheart (even if her heart may ultimately belong to someone else). The pride of Gilneas and the indestructible qualities of its force and kingdom. Veton, who was a constant companion (on the other side of the Gates) for the better part of six months after his mother had died.

Lunette is thankful for: Her husband - Lunarius - and her children - Atellus, Moone, Gardien, and the late Astaire. Her adopted daughter - Adaven the orphan Rogue. Trusty companions Larodath, Yente, Yurriot, Cauthon, and Aschen. Gooa - that once pesky mage who taught her what it took to survive in PvP. Her guild - Unearthed - and its remarkable ability to be prosperous and homely. Her frostsabers - January and Seventeen. The Druids of Moonglade and their support.

Winterr is thankful for: Her herd and tribe, who maintain their undying faith in her every single season since her Coming-of-Age Ceremony. The ways of the Druid and the Earthmother who has blessed her in several ways this past year. The Horde and their warchief, who have honored her services in battle. Those who have coached her on her journey to become a Feral Druid. Whimsi, her unexpected Undead pen pal and fellow botanist.

{...} is thankful for: Greyer and his consideration of not hogging the spotlight... The reforging of alliance with the Horde and the freedom they brought. Pockets full of gold. Technology and good business. The Lost Isles. Security. The sacrifice her younger brother had made to ensure her survival during the naval crossfire that would change the fate of the Goblins of Kezan. Hair accessories, jewelcrafters, and awesome deals on much needed items.

Rese is thankful for: Lunarius and Nikolaos (and the awesome man who makes them the best battle companions ever). Family members who tolerate her love of these pixelated beings and their made-up stories. Ventrilo. Blizzard and the game/s that started it all. Epic guildmates and friends - Sam, Derek, Tony, Matt, Amy, Bob, Mike, Sean, and Dustin. And - of course - Lunette, Taceo, Whimsi, Greyer, Tabijin, Veton, Winterr, Wyler, {...}, and the world they live in.

Atalanta: A Rambling

Very few know me for the young lad I was once. My mother used to boast about how I could have any lady in the kingdom - even though there was only one woman I deftly pursued. But now all they see is the bitter, cold recluse who wanders from the tannery to the local shops once a week - a man left with nothing but memories, whose family and loved ones have vanished by means of the Curse. Once, there was an eligible bachelor who wanted nothing more than to manage his own business and raise a family of his very own. He is no longer there. The opportunity to obtain these two simple aspects of life, I fear, has long since passed; and, it flew with the simple flick of her hand.

A refusal.

A rejection.

Atalanta.

Ridiculously stubborn, ever-challenging since we were introduced as childhood playmates, unbelievably finicky, albeit genuinely charming.

Everything she was, she was opposite me. Whereas I was all for traditions, she'd rejuvenate old ways into something fresh; and, where I was proper and rule-abiding, she tested the boundaries [and, vice versa, mind you].

If only I had initially kept the promise to keep the Lyall Tannery in business.
If only I weren't so hellbent, and she weren't so persnickety.
If only this Curse hadn't changed me, changed us.

My [or, rather, Conri's!] Gilneas Boys [L-R]: Twins Faolan & Farran and Greyer Lyall
One thing I love about Warcraft characters is their clothing. Mages and Priests wear robes, flowy garments as Warriors and Paladins wear plate armor; a low-level character might have been recruited into the Horde or Alliance with just the clothes on their back; Rogues wear leather, and perhaps only carry what they can to eliminate anything snagging onto them as they sneak around... An auctioneer might not wear "battle gear" and instead wear something flashy as they go about their business to and from the auction house.

With the introduction of the Worgen, I had a thought:

What does a Gilnean wear?

According to WoWWiki:
Gilneans, the inhabitants of Gilneas, are burly, and their costumes, weapons, architecture and accents have great Victorian connotations. With the environment, echoing 19th century London, gear might be fitted to withstand heavy rain and wind. (source)

Greyer's Box

Yes, Mr. Lyall is late to the Time Capsule party.

Imagine that you have a box, and inside the box are seven items that perfectly describe your character. From their thoughts, ambitions, history, physical characteristics, etc. You can even go into detail on what KIND of box that your seven items are in.

Greyer's Box:
A medium-sized, wooden box. Though the wood is stained a rich chocolate hue, signs of wear are apparent on every edge. Its lid bears the Lyall family crest and is fastened by pewter hinges. A tarnished silver keyhole adorns the front; there are large, shallow scratches - presumably claw marks - on the top, bottom and backside between the hinges.

Why Greyer is 'grey'...

Since I've been without WOW for a while, I launched my Dogz 4 program again and amidst trying to breed the perfect "hunting dog" [large pointed ears for tracking, stunning iris color in contrast to dark fur, long legs], I came up with the idea of tracing the Lyall family tree.

...if they had all been Worgen, I suspect they'd be as such canine-wise [please pay no mind to the tails, they're just more traditional lupine/"werewolfish" in the program]:

Eldest siblings to the left and youngest to the right.
Running family traits: Smooth/Ragged ears, Sleek/Rough pelt, Brown (common)/Green (uncommon)/Teal eyes (rare), naming tributes to ancestors/grandparents (why there are so many Lottie's and Lily's and Lillian's in this family, I'll never know... it was a popular name in the Victorian Era though)
The collars were meant to signify where the wealth in the family went or came from; apparently I lost track somewhere and it turned out Greyer's parents and grandparents seemed to work out into some sort of 'middle class' standing anyway
Twins run in this family on Greyer's mother's side - Remus/Eliza Jane Whitaker (Conri's older siblings) and Faolan/Farran Lyall (Greyer's older brothers)
Why Greyer actually came out with a bluer coat than his brothers, I couldn't explain... None of the pictures in this file have been changed; these are the raw bitmap captures from the Petz program (just all compiled together).

Given that Gilneas was a prosperous society once the walls were put up and they were self-sufficient, I suspected that the Lyall family was rather large (and therefore only traced the line directly to Greyer; of course, Arthur August Lyall's four siblings would have had families of their own).

On the other hand, Lillian Rose Barnes is related to Elodi Barnes (aka "Whimsi") to some degree that I'm not aware of.

Whimsi [on Worgen]: PUPPIES!

Taceo [on Greyer]: I'd really love to meet him, as far as his personality goes, I'd love to see if he's just as he sounds. I mean, I've read up on Gilnean society wherever I can steal books or scrolls and have them translated, and those humans are just fascinating. Greyer sounds like the type of guy I'd love to have as my nemesis.

Greyer [on Taceo]: Blood elves aren't exactly the type I'd socialize with; even if they spoke Common, well, just... no. This... Lady Taceo I keep hearing out and about, scraping her sword and shield and screaming hysterically outside the gate. Light help me...

Veton [on Spritzer]: He's very kind young man. When I spent one evening at the gate, I just happened to see him there when I was passing through, and he asked politely if I had any food. I split a wedge of cheese with him and we shared a few cornbread pieces. He was once a bartender for one of the pubs, but he was supposedly smoked out when he was spotted hanging out with some rogue named Lyall. I still feel so bad for leaving him there, he wanted to come away with me.

Greyer [on rogues]: Yes, I did review some public polls and I heard that most people are "rolling" Worgen rogues. Sure, let them, but tell me this, can they survive? Pick locks to escape certain death... memorize the flora required for efficient poisons? Have they ever tried to escape the kingdom unseen only to be foiled at the very last moment? Heh, tell me that.

Tabijin [on goblins]: *grumbles.*

Taceo [on goblins]: Pointy ears, cunning and witty, quite different than the rest of the Horde identities, like... Blood Elves... I think we'll get along just fine.

Greyer [on Spritzer]: Heh, that kid is undoubtedly something else. His company is tolerable, though his hopes of finding a cure for this curse is absolutely ridiculous.

Spritzer [on Greyer]: Greyer is... well... what can I say? He took me in and he's taught me a bit about surviving and not feeling so bad about losing my job. He also taught me how to duel with a sword. He's not an optimist though, which is fine since I guess one could say that I compliment him nicely. Like, what were their names...? Um, "Batman and Robin"? Heh... Maybe?

__________ [on the Alliance]: Armor up and brace yourselves, FOR THE HORDE, BABY!

Greyer [on "__________"] Seriously, Rese? You made her my expansion counterpart? I beg your pardon?! I was informed I would be taking the reins from the event of 'the Cataclysm' and onward.

__________ [on Greyer] Hey, bub, you gotta problem wit' me? YOU GOTTA PROBLEM WIT' ME?! *jabs a long-nailed finger into his shoulder* Back it up.

Taceo [on "__________"] FINALLY! Someone who knows what's going on!

Whimsi [...]: PUPPIES?

I've had some of these "forever," and I can't seem to complete them. They're just little snippets of paragraphs that kinda run dilly-dally all over my mind when I'm idle.

February 4th, 2010
It had been months since Greyer and Ata last met in the clearing, when she had sent a horde of vengeful citizens his direction with blazing torches. This was nothing like he had imagined, this... curse... By now, he had assumed other canines had populated the kingdom and it had spread much faster than he had expected - outbreaks of anger and the determination to rid the population of the monsters had fizzled into whispers of fear and pleads for help. The other night Spritzer had returned to the tannery with news that the kingdom's general store never opened for business at daybreak and the door bore several claw marks. The flour sacks that had ripped open, littered the floor with signs of struggle - and large canine-like tracks. Greyer simply shook his head at the youth, muttering that if the kingdom wanted to survive something as strange as this pandemic, Greymane would have to seek aid.

This was it, the desperate cries for help had been answered. Those who fight under the banner of the Alliance reach out with concern and observe with skeptical eyes, and several of us - Worgen - extend waves upon waves of gratitude to them. Spritzer and I can only watch, unwavering and unfazed, keeping the hand that the Light - perhaps, simply Fate - has dealt us. Though the young bartender's eyes were seemingly dull and clouded over, he couldn't help but to question the silhouettes of pacing frostsabers.

Greyer Lyall couldn't sleep. Monstrous howls woven with the gusts of wind occupied the spaces where thunder ceased to roll; and, when the storm calmed and the winds died, an eerie silence paved way for the sound of restless rain.

June 2nd, 2010
"You are impossible, Greyer!" she scoffed.
"Don't you see what is happening out there, Ata? It's a pandemic, the whole kingdom is succumbing to this monstrosity. It is a curse, there is no cure!"
Atalanta crossed her arms, "Have you any hope?"
The gray-haired gentleman's brows knitted together, and in one swift movement, he raised a hand, swiping it across his childhood sweetheart's cheek.

History: While alive, Wyler had always said he had been blessed. He had been accepted as a missionary for the Church of Holy Light, done well in his classes towards priesthood, and had fully achieved the understanding and teachings of the Light's Virtues - respect, tenacity, and compassion.

Personality: Wyler is, in essence, a fanatic. His every move, every thought, is supposedly guided by the Light. While he frowns upon those who stop to stare at the sight of his decaying body, he often offers a prayer for those who give him a shiny copper coin.

Appearance: A bony corpse is all that remains of Wyler. Treacherous traveling while getting used to his new life after death has made the flesh around his elbows, toes, and knees unpleasantly fall off. His scalp was now bare, bereft of the thick chocolate locks that used to adorn it; he claims that the mice who had inhabited his crypt had found use for it in their nests. Thick stitches adorn his crown and temple where a "new" scalp has replaced his once-shaved head. When he first awoke in Deathknell, his jaw had gone missing, perhaps even stolen by a fellow priest who had come around before him. He eventually remedied the situation by visiting the Brill graveyard, stealing a mandible from a lifeless corpse that had been robbed of its possessions. His clothes are often ripped and unraveling; having been brought back to "life" has convinced him that looks aren't exactly everything.

A rather large cockroach can often be seen on his figure or at his feet - wherever he goes, she is never too far behind. Usually, she has to be dislodged from his body...

The bony, reanimated horse he travels upon is tall and spindly, lovingly dubbed "Bishop." A simple ragged halter with blinders and reins, as well as a worn saddle, garnish his pallid frame. Every now and then Wyler covers his [intact] back with a frayed blanket to protect him from maggots and other pests.

A large backpack, if not seen hanging from Bishop's saddle is often seen hanging from Wyler's shoulders. However, if undergoing a mission to cleanse an area, Wyler carries a simple, multi-pocket satchel from his belt. Among other knick-knacks that he totes around, a wand is often tucked into his robes, as well as a pocket prayer book.

Quirks:

His name means "wheel maker."
Tenet, Wyler's pet cockroach, has been with him since he was awoken in Deathknell. She had made herself a cozy home in his ribcage, and frankly refuses to leave.
He reached lvl 20 in 20 hours, 55 minutes.
His loyal steed was possibly a palomino...once.

Whimsi smiled as she scanned the horizon from Krasus' Landing. "Beautiful isn't it, Tumnus?" she said dreamily, speaking to the broad-striped tabby at her feet. The feline rubbed himself against her calves, his loose fur sticking to the woolen material of her robe. Dalaran had easily impressed her beyond her expectations. The fountains were beautiful, the nightly fee at the inns were affordable, the vendors were pleasant, and there was always something happening wherever one went - just the other day, Tumnus scampered off after a poor engineer's pet mechanical squirrel, and as Whimsi managed to get a hold of the playful feline, the engineer simply smiled and accepted her panicked apology without a problem...

She propped her head up with a hand as the rhythm of approaching dragons reached her ears, eventually ruffling her hair and sleeve hems as they soared over her to land. A loud hiss erupted from Tumnus' chest and Whimsi bent down to pick him up, relaxing his feeble frame from its arched position. "Oh shush, Mr. Grumpy," she cooed. "It's just a pro-to-drake. No need to get all huffy." She planted a kiss between his ears, above his brilliant golden eyes, "So silly, Tumnus." He let out a low, irritated meow and she set him down.

It was a good thing she didn't return her gaze to the skyline or she would have missed Tumnus' spontaneous dart for the stairways that lead into the city. "Tumnus!" she gasped. "Get back here!" Sprinting after her pet, she watched as he stopped in front of a perky pug, his fur bristling along his arched back. Whimsi quickly snatched him into her arms, but before she could scamper off like nothing had happened, the pug growled and yipped, catching its owner's attention. The undead priest slowly looked from the finely crafted boots up to the fur-adorned leg patches, the gaudy buckled belt, the dented chest piece, the large pauldrons... With her head fully tilted upward, her eyes finally came to rest upon the sight of a large, fearsome horned helmet that contained two frosty blue eyes, both of which were glaring down at her. Her eyes widened and she swallowed nervously as a breath of hot air shot from a vertical mouth opening in the helm, vaporizing and drifting upward in the frost-bitten air, "S-Sorry, sir... er... heh, we'll... we'll be going now." She squeaked the last few words of her sentence, but nevertheless managed to run off with Tumnus in one piece. Again, Dalaran had proven to be one of the most interesting places to call "home."

The White Lady and Blue Child hung listlessly in the night sky. With his usual pile of mail and packages tucked away in his tattered messenger bag, the old troll sat atop one of the large boulders before the grand gate of Orgrimmar. He let out a ragged sigh, his shoulders sagging forward as he hunched over, setting his elbows on his knees.

Months... No, years... of waiting for a word of his only daughter's whereabouts had finally run its course and, without the flame his soul once harbored, he realized there was nothing left. He blinked several times, fighting the tears that he had never allowed himself to weep. The monocle that framed his right eye fell from his face, dangling from its chain. His right hand reached out and tucked the fragile object into his vest pocket.

"Well," he began, addressing his departed wife with a few sniffles, "what now, Zabeni?" The gentle Durotar breeze whisked past him as if responding to his question. A tear fell down his wrinkled blue cheek and he buried his face in his hands. Wiping his cheeks on the back of his right hand, his gaze lifted to the stars, unsure of what to think. He opened his mouth again but before he could even utter a word, a white feather brushed the tip of his long, crooked nose before landing in his lap. His scarlet red eyes struggled to focus for a moment as he brought the soft object to his face. "Wha-what do you mean?" he tilted his head. The wind blew past him once more, snatching the feather from his fingertips.

The breeze whistled in his ears before dying again. Let go.

Reluctantly, he shook his head, his large pointed ears swaying. "I... I can't." He grimaced and sighed, deciding to get up and head to the vault to sort the mail that awaited his undivided attention. Though, as he bent down to pick up his messenger bag, another white feather rested on the torn flap. He reached down to pick it up, but again the wind carried it away from his grasp. Watching it lift high above him and over the city walls, he slung his bag strap onto a bony shoulder. He closed his eyes as the breeze caressed his face, rustling his long sleeves and tousled white hair.

"I love you, too," he breathed, opening his eyes again. "Thank you."

The rocky seaside was possibly one of the worst places a kingdom could settle on. Cold, frostbitten winters announced their arrivals with seemingly endless days of rain, and continued on in that fashion until the weather allowed a beam of sunshine or a plain cloudy day. Greyer ran his cold fingers through his mousy brown hair, slicking it back. Taking his pipe from his inner vest pocket, he placed it in his mouth, but didn't bother with lighting it - the sheets of rain cascading from the sky would have made it impossible, and even attempts of shielding a flame from the downpour would not save it from the wind.

He shrugged, continuing to lean against the side of city hall. Being around society again was refreshing, he hated to admit. Their fear was almost exhilarating, just watching them scurry to and fro in the rain made him grin. "Good evening, Mister Thewlis." He gave a nod in salutation as the gentleman walked past, keeping his hold on his top hat as he greeted Greyer with a slight smile and a cautionary statement about getting indoors and out of the rain. Greyer smiled in return and shook his head as the man continued on his way down the cobblestone path.

The wind began to pick up, causing the candlelit lanterns to swing from their hooks. He took this as a sign to get up and head back to the family tannery, his current place of residence. After casting a backward glance at the city hall, he weaved his way around the lamp posts, a little skip in his step. When he arrived to the small shoppe, Spritzer - the young bartender who had recently become his constant evening companion - was already at the door, apparently eager for his return. "Locked out again?" he chuckled, pulling an iron key from his trouser pocket. The youth nodded, shivering. "Get in," he smiled, placing a hand on Spritzer's shoulder and nudging him over the threshold. "Guess I'll have Fenrir make a duplicate key for you tomorrow morning." Spritzer prodded at the logs in the fireplace with a thick twig before successfully getting them to catch flame. As Greyer removed his thick coat and hung it by the door, the evening ritual of settling down for the night began; and, as the bartender climbed into Faolan's old bed, Greyer slipped into his bedroom.

Closing the door behind him, he watched as several pieces of paper hanging from the walls fluttered. He lit the oil lamps around the room with caution before sitting down at his desk, continuing his research about the Curse that had fallen over the kingdom he had once loved.

[I know this piece doesn't have much to tell, but well, I wanted to share the design of it, and, perhaps confirm that Greyer and Spritzer aren't camping by the gates like they were in previous story drafts, but staying in the Lyall Tannery - the family shoppe. I guess it kinda shows Greyer's "gentler" side as well, if anything.]

Hidden away behind the tree near the northern bank of Dalaran, Taceo draped her cloak around her legs. The cool breeze bit at her cheeks and whisked her short hair about her forehead and eyes. She shivered and withdrew a hand out from underneath her cape to pull her worn backpack closer to the large, gnarled root she leaned against. There would be no tanking nor healing duties today. There were much more than dungeons, high quality gear, and other soldiers to worry about. The only thing she knew was that she could not lose anything and anyone she held dear - and that included her beloved guildmates - to a cataclysm.

Whimsi hummed softly as she dumped her backpack and her container of safety deposit box items on the floor of the northern Dalaran bank. She tossed her coin purse back into her backpack and eyed the rest of the knick-knacks that had collected at her feet. Zombie's curious, horned-skull lowered into the pile and she gently shoved him away from his reins and moss-filled feed bag. The skeletal horse nipped at her once and she forced him away with a sallow palm. Tumnus' head peeked out from underneath his owner's backpack flap. Whimsi smiled and scooped him into her lap. He rubbed his head against her ribcage as she snatched up the various of herbs that had tumbled out of a scroll case she had found while exploring earlier. Adeptly, she bundled them up with twine and stored them away properly into their appropriate jars, sorting which containers would be sent to Tabijin and which would be returned to the bank. After gathering the odds and ends and striking a deal with a nearby vendor, she made her way to a mailbox, tripping twice due to Tumnus weaving his way around her ankles. The canister of deadnettle would sell, as would the leftover mageroyal petals and goldclover leaves... A battered mace, a handful of enchanting dust, a sprig of lichbloom, a discolored potion (still tasted 'minty' though), a spiked staff, a necklace of unusually elegant craftmanship... and a hug. Once the items had been arranged neatly into the mailbox, she bent down and placed Tumnus carefully alongside the items and closed the door, positive that the feline would make the old troll smile. She opened the mailbox lid slightly, her luminescent eyes lighting up the dark, empty corners. She furrowed a brow; while she had been expecting mail hawks and owls to swoop down, she realized that her mail had been magically sent. (Damned mages....)

The elderly troll sifted through the piece of mail that had returned to him at Tanka'Le Village. Most of them addressed him with an elegantly written salutation of "Hail Chief Tabi'" or a "Sir Tabijin." Auction money, letter from Lady Taceo, auction money, returned bid, letter from Lady Taceo, package from Whimsi, package from Winterr, Whimsi's request for a cat toy, a bundle of returned auction lots, auction money, Tumnus... Nothing fascinating as usual. The broad-striped tabby cat purred at him and swatted at his hand as he scooped up the rest of the envelopes. He heaved a weary sigh and tucked the items into his backpack before lifting Tumnus out of the mailbox; he'd have to get Taceo to deliver him back to Whimsi yet again.

Veton laid back in her hammock, careful to slowly rest her hooves on the wooden bar closest to the inn entrance. Tanaris held nothing but desert, goblins, and their need for items from places and creatures she could barely face. She wondered what her family would be doing if no one had left the crash site and continued helping with the recovery of their ship. She wondered if she had even the slightest chance to run into Lena, Elodi and Zilaara again. Thoughts of Goruth and Ealenia and the possibility of becoming a battle medic alongside them even crossed her mind. Her tail tip curled as a warm gust of wind blew through the small Gadgetzan inn; she really hated it here.

Rain poured heavily from the sky, seeping its way onto and into anything it landed on. Greyer shook the water from his thick pelt, starting at his tattered ears and neck and working his way down to calves, restoring the fur at his ankles to its previous damp, feathery appearance. He wished he had stashed his armor away for the night; though it provided some protection from the storm, distressed patches and seams sewn together with only waxed cotton cord could not keep him dry. He swallowed and let out a yawn, baring his teeth and curling tongue; after howling for nearly an hour, boredom had finally caught up with him. His eyes focused on his newly-found companion, a tawny-pelted, middle-aged individual by the name of Spritzer. If they hadn't been chased off by their fellow denizens, they would've been in the inn enjoying a pint of ale and enjoying themselves instead of prowling about by the King's Gate, waiting for the rain to stop. Spritzer's sightless eyes shifted from Greyer to the sky above. Greyer snorted and stood up briefly before planting his hands on the muddied path, continuing to head back to his makeshift camp on all fours. The blind bartender's khaki-furred ears swiveled forward and upon hearing Greyer's footfalls above the whispering rain, he set his nose to the ground and followed suit, the claws of each of his paws digging into the soaked terrain.

If anything, everyone, despite the distance between them, eagerly awaited the return of Greatfather Winter to restore their spirits of hope and happiness....

...heh, for all I know, Greyer's father/family could've made armor/supply packs for the war(s), the Lyall family could've assisted in building the Greymane Wall... Could Greyer become afflicted with the Curse because of an encounter with his father or brothers (whether a bite or simple contact)? Something to consider, I suppose. I really want some more specifics about the Curse's dynamics beside the fact of it "spreading through Gilneas unchecked for several years."

On a different note and on the other side of the Greymane Wall, Greyer can't seem to shake off the annoyance of an individual by the name of "Spritzer." Not sure who he is just yet, but Greyer's howling and snarling by the King's Gate has been heard almost nightly now.

History: Veton was born to Totle and Era, two skilled paladins who were medics aboard the Exodar. Like her cousin Elodi, she was cared for by her uncle, Craetes, after her parents, uncle, and aunt perished in the Exodar crash. The three cousins were close until Zilaara left Ammen Vale where they had been tending to the crash survivors. Elodi would follow soon after, leaving Veton alone with her uncle's near-constant worrying. It wasn't very long until Veton departed the crash site, determined to surpass her cousins and whatever they had set out to do for the Alliance.

On her journey to Stormwind, she befriended Goruth, a skilled warrior, and a mage by the name of Ealenia. With their companionship came the invitation to become apart of the guild Love and Warcraft. Since then, she has realized what she has to do... train, master the elements, and serve the Alliance alongside her new-found comrades.

As the seasons passed, from Autumn to Winter, Veton found herself against a new enemy - Northrend and the Scourge who threatened to inhabit its every surface. For the first few weeks, Strike was unable to navigate through the frozen skies, leaving Veton to fend for herself on the rough terrain with only Tempest, her white frostsaber, and her ghost wolves.

Once Spring had arrived on Azeroth's lower continents, the young Shaman had seemingly grown beyond the naive Draenei who had left the Exodar crash site. Renting rooms in Dalaran and spending time by the city's fountains and other little snow-bombarded settlements, Veton made her way into the throng of Alliance and Horde soldiers, following them in and out of the city to ward them off or heal their battle wounds.

As the days march on, she continues to strive to be one of her guild's prominent members.

Appearance: Slender, pale-skinned and bright-eyed, Veton is nothing short of athletic in build. Her black-brown hooves are worn, and gold rings and bands accent her figure. Three golden hoops hang from each of her pointed ears. Her shoulder-length, silver hair is thin and always well-washed. Tall horns sprout from her temple, seeming like 'rabbit ears' in shape.

She usually wears her cherished Tabard of the Hand to show her pride to be a survivor of her people - though it is not uncommon for her to switch between favorite allies. Her gear, meanwhile, almost always consists of chainmail lined with ragged leather pieces for comfort; she rarely cares to pay mind to the frays in her cape or the scuff-marks on her knees, glove palms, and elbows. Some pieces look very worn - and most are singed and patched in some places - as if she didn't bother to find more suiting armor to wear. Her hands, though quite soft in general, have a few calluses on her palms from wielding heavy maces, daggers, and shields.

Second toon to become lvl 80; the first was Taceo.
The name "Veton" means lightning in Albanian.
Veton, due to a nearly unfulfilled wish of having an all-white, high level Draenei, is related to cousins Zilaara and Elodi Sophronias [on the server Silverhand]. She is also supposedly related to Lena Sophronias [another Draenei who was "put on the back burner" when Taceo was created]. Their last name of 'Sophronias' means "prudent" or "self-controlled" in Greek, loosely translated to "harmony, voice, wisdom and skill."
She was created solely to play with Taceo's guild mates who had transferred servers from Thorium Brotherhood to Fenris.
Veton's father and uncles are triplets, named for Greek philosophers: Craetes (Socrates), Totle (Aristotle) and Medes (Archimedes)
Reached lvl 58/Outland in 4 days, 20 hours, 27 minutes, and 18 seconds [in play time].
Got to lvl 60 in 5 days, 1 hour, 25 minutes, and 52 seconds [in play time]; leveled soon after the first pull in Hellfire Ramparts - her first TBC dungeon.
Her pet Snowy Gryphon, Strike, was quick to bond with her after learning he liked to eat Fel Blossoms.

Lunarius kissed the crown of her head, bringing his hands to her face to brush a strand of snow white hair from her eyes. His thumbs smoothed over the familiar dark facial markings on her cheeks before intertwining with the two large looped braids at the base of her neck. She raised a hand to his jaw, expressing her fascination with the broad patch of white hair that ran across her husband’s chin and face. “Is the beard a bit much?” he questioned, his deep voice soft and mellow. Lunette bit her lip to hold back a girlish giggle and shook her head. She brought her other hand up to his face to trail her fingertips up either side of his jaw line in adoration, causing him to slowly close his eyes. When he opened them again, she rested her hands on his shoulder pads and buried her face into his chest, “I’ve missed you...”

Taceo: The ever-strong and determined. A chip on rests on both shoulders. She has never known loss or hopelessness. She is capable of getting anything she could ever want. Nothing can stop her once she has focused on something. She is independently stable by all means: her parents are still living, she knows where the gold is and how much she needs to get her through each day, she is sure of her purpose as a Horde/Silvermoon soldier.

Reser: The 'lesser Taceo.' While she is independent and sure of what she wants, her road to that state of mind was rough; abandonment, a father-like Mage trainer, and years of soul-searching guided her when she had no one to answer her cries for help. She has no recollection of her parents or her friends, leaving her unsure of nearly everything except for the duties of a true Mage.

Lunette: The war-torn veteran... She had everything to begin with: a proper upbringing, a calling for her during the war, the confidence in her teachings as a druid, a companion for life (whom she married and had two children with). Depression broke her a thousand times over, testing her, but she would rise again, renewed after every bout. However, Northrend beckoned, and when the war continued to rage, it tore her from those she held dear, shattering her once again.

Whimsi: The undying optimist without a specific purpose. When something goes wrong, her focus shifts to the next event or thing that could succeed without a second thought about why that something failed. You could give her a small candle and tell her to explore a seemingly endless cave and she'd do it; even if her candle were to be blown out, she'd relight it by any means and continue until she'd memorize every nook and cranny. She does not remember most things, but the things she can recall are only moments of happiness or uplifting insight.

Tabijin: The fallen, crumbling patriarch. He has loved and lost... not just his family, but everything. From riches to rags. He is forced to continue life rebuilding, but whatever he has rebuilt can never replace or fill in the gaps that has formed within him. He clings desperately to the past, not knowing that things will never be the same.

Greyer: The cynical, misunderstood outcast. His isolation and seclusion were all of his own doing - his beliefs and outlook - and he has thoroughly accepted that along with his current condition of being cursed as a monstrous being. His older twin brothers overshadowed him constantly during his childhood and, on several occasions, he has gone out of his way to avoid them and their parents, determined to find something more to define him as 'different.' When his family fell under the effects of the Worgen curse, he watched as his family was torn apart and driven away; first his twin brothers were captured by authorities, then his father, and when he, himself, became afflicted, he watched as his mother fled in fear and mourned as he witnessed her lifeless body being towed to shore. He resorted to living away from society, only returning to his family's leatherworking shoppe for months at a time to temporarily ease his pain of missing them, observing as friends and town acquaintances became monsters themselves. His basic means of surviving are simple; as long as there is a way to continue living with how he is, life can go on.

I don't know why, but,
I wish I had Greyer or Whimsi;
perhaps they'd understand.

Depending on how the Worgen models look, Greyer will either be male or female, though I do lean towards the male (mainly because all my characters are female, except for Tabijin). Worgen images from WoWinsider / WoW.com.

Full character sheet to come as soon as more information and the expansion are released... but for now, have a masculine (age 23) and feminine (age 11-12) Greyer, his 'finalized' male form (with conceptually incorrect teeth?), and a roughly sketched female form.

...and, erm, no, I didn't mean for 'him' to look like Orlando Bloom or Johnny Depp or Billy Crudup. Haha. I really intend for him to be older, so his pelt is grey (surprise, surprise...).

Oh, and he has a snaggletooth. :D Ain't 'e darling?!

History: Tabijin was once a greatly respected elder and witchdoctor of the Stonetusk Tribe, a prime advisor to the chief. He first showed a talent in harnessing the elements when he had a rogue encounter with a lightning bolt and survived, able to use the charged energy to accidentally spark a fire in a glade. He was taken in as an apprentice by his father who helped him understand the power of Shamanistic ways. When his father died, he was appointed as the tribe's next witchdoctor and was sent to heal the land beyond the tribe's territory in order to make it safely inhabitable. During his mission, he traveled conveniently in ghost wolf form, which caused a young troll hunter to nearly mistake him for an evening meal along the edge of Lake Nezferiti. Upon catching sight of her with her stealthily approaching pet tiger, he shape-shifted back and threw his hands up in alarm, causing her to immediately disengage and call her feline back to her side. This simple meeting, they would later realize, would begin the next chapter of their lives.

In the spring of -24, Tabijin and Zabeni were wed, initiating her as a new member and honorary scout of the tribe. Together, they helped strengthen the bonds of the tribe, providing for every need and advising the chief in every questionable situation. A year before the Second War, Reser was born, the last and youngest of the tribe's next generation. However, the joys in parenting did not last; the Horde soon recruited the trolls as allies, sweeping up the secluded tribe in a fully-fledged war against a new enemy, the Alliance.

Zabeni agreed to be one of the first to leave, to make sure paths to and from the designated destinations were clear to travel on. The night the tribe decided to evacuate their homestead, hours after Zabeni and another hunter left, a group of Alliance ambushed the group. Tabijin sprang into the fray, defending Toombah, Reser, the caretakers and the youths they were attempting to herd and carry away from harm. When the dust settled and the atmosphere quieted, Tabijin and those who had come to his aid, glanced around to only lay their eyes on the lifeless bodies of fallen comrades, tame companions and the enemies. Unable to catch up with Toombah and the others and finding nothing tethering him to the tribe grounds, the middle-aged Shaman decided to move on, earning himself the honorary title of "Scout" among the soldier ranks. Once the Second War ended with a victory for the Alliance, Tabijin returned to the rundown glade he had once called home. By now, the wooden huts had been burnt to charcoal and, everywhere in the sand, deep footsteps told the story of a struggle. He assumed the small band of the tribe, who had left to seek refuge, returned only to be taken captive and dragged away.

Venturing to find Toombah and his daughter, Tabijin tamed a jungle raptor who helped carry him north where he ran into Toombah on the road, fully clad in thick armor. There, the two friends exchanged news; the tribe grounds had been razed and Zabeni had been captured by a band of Dwarves while attempting to push forward to Quel'Thalas. It was enough to assume none of the caretakers survived, and neither did the younglings in their care. When questioned about Reser, Toombah simply shrugged his shoulders, not sure of her whereabouts after leaving her in the care of a nomadic troll tribe evacuating the Hinterlands. Infuriated, Tabijin stormed away, determined to find her. Several years without success in tracking her down has left him crippled and without hope. The construction of Orgrimmar allowed him to find a new home in the Horde capital and has not wandered very far from it for several days at a time since then.

The lightly-armored emerald raptor that can usually be found sleeping near the tavern of Orgrimmar is "Terra," a rickety companion who has swiftly carried him across the vast terrain for the better part of 20 years. He strikes as a 'neutral' character, able to allow himself to act naturally upon instinct. Since his tribe has fallen and his beloved wife and daughter has gone missing, his top priority is in shielding himself from everything and nearly everyone.

Personality: Tabijin was once a carefree individual, able to channel his energy into the elements to wash away, burn or heal worries or listless thoughts. In these current stretches of days, weeks, months and seasons, though, he is plagued with worry and a prolonged grief that was never healed over time. On good days, he often lets out a chuckle while entertaining Ayden or shares a random joke with those he encounters at the Auction House; however, these days become rarer and rarer as time goes on. Most of the time, he lives day-to-day, forlorn and reserved with barely a smile between his tusks. If one had the time to sit down and talk to him, years of experiencing war and remembering past memories become apparent through his small quirks of fidgeting with his hands and occasional trembling or shaking. He also has a habit of mumbling idly to no one in particular, as well as claiming to be conversing with the wind, hoping of news of his daughter.

As a ghost wolf, he often gets a kick out of feeling like he's "not really there," enjoying the sensation of being seemingly, physically free. In this state it is usual for him to nearly lose all awareness of things and people around him; he is skittish and easily startled of anyone who approaches.

Appearance: Ragged and slouched over, Tabijin looks worn with age. His once vivid green hair has faded into frosty whites and grays and seems to be thinning at his hairline. His tusks have several shallow cuts at the tips of them and a browning/yellow coloration is strongly apparent from base to tip. When venturing outside of Orgrimmar, his thin figure is covered with a scuffed leather chest piece hides the numerous battle scars on his torso. A glowing one-hand weapon usually hangs from his belt as a large, dented shield on his back makes him appear nearly turtle-like. Patched leather armor pieces protect his legs, hands, shoulders, and calves; variously sized holes and fraying have formed at his knees and thighs.

One the other hand, while spending time trying to keep his mind from wandering, Tabijin can be found walking to and from the auction house in a white shirt, red vest, black pants and boots. A slight squint keeps a dusty monocle over his right eye, which helps with his nearsightedness. He carries only his backpack with a skinning knife tucked into his belt.

A small Blizzard bear cub follows in his shadow, obedient and very wary of all who stare at his aged owner. A thick rope is tied around his neck, serving as a makeshift collar. When waiting for auctions to sell, Tabijin can sometimes be found playing fetch with the little cub or obsessively bathing him to keep the Durotar sand from staining his pure white fur; only then is it possible, now a days, to see the elderly troll smile or chuckle playfully. It also isn't unusual to see Tabijin carrying his pet under an arm while going about his daily business.

Quirks:

Tabijin's pet Blizzard Bear Cub was given to him by a wandering traveler who had been to Northrend.
Has been said to have an obsessive compulsive disorder.

The Engineer

     Taceo slowly made her way through Dalaran, admiring the little shoppes as she often did. The various bottles of alchemist supplies, floating inscription books, the smell of tanned leather, the clanking of blacksmith hammers against forged metal, the scent and rustle of freshly penned designs being handed out for a handful of gold coins... all the sights of the profession apprentices and masters at work never failed to make her smile when she made her way to visit her Jewelcrafter trainer. When the sound of ticking stopped her in her tracks, she idly looked over her shoulder. The sights of curios and the busy engineers they belonged to rarely caught her interest, but something was rather strange and amusing about the glow coming from inside that building tonight. She adjusted her worn messenger bag, balancing its weight on her shoulder, and stepped over the threshold.
     The toe of her plate boots gently pushed a large wrench across the tile floor, nearly causing her to trip. Upon bending down to pick up the rusted tool, she met the gaze of a young, blue-skinned troll. The youth looked up at her from his place on the floor, sliding his goggles up onto his forehead once she had fully stood up. She concluded by the small size of his tusks and his vibrant green hair that he couldn't be older than 18 mortal years. The gloves he wore and the tool belt strapped about his waist, she observed, were much too large for him; and, several grease-covered instruments, peculiar cogs and discs, a battered box of miscellaneous metal findings, and small cans of oil were strewn carelessly around him.
     The Blood Elf Paladin raised a brow as she stepped closer and silently pointed to the small robot-like mechanism he had been busy refurbishing before her approach. He redirected his gaze to the the bronze and copper creation and quietly returned his attention to the dark liquid that seeped from its chest cavity. After a few moments, she watched as he pulled a stopwatch from his neglected toolbox and delicately installed it with some spare wire and set of pliers. Before she could even ask, Taceo watched and listened as he wound the dial of the timepiece, allowing the soft, muffled sound of ticking to interrupt his voice every other word, "Ya probableh wouldn't fulleh undastand, bein' a blood elf an' all wit' all yer long, gen'rous years... But time fer all o' us runs out eventually."

Whimsi: Discolored hair and glossed-over expression, I've been told... Um... Wait, what? Oh! Purple-ness?! *Points to hair.*

1) Did your OC have a family of any sort? If so, are they still alive?
Taceo: My father, a once-retired Ambassador of the Horde, and mother still go about their business with the little inn they've bought in Falcon Wing Square.
Winterr: My tribe or herd still make their home somewhere not too far from the mountains of Mulgore.
Whimsi: I still have my kitty. He went missing when I became sick, and when I woke up again, Winterr found him for me and brought him back! He's so grown up now, he's precious.
Tabijin: *averts his eyes and runs a hand idly through his hair.*
Taceo: Allow me to explain. Tabi' had a wife and daughter. Zabeni was a very distinguished hunter of the Horde, one of the finest scouts Thrall has ever seen and honored. She... well, I'll probably get to it in a bit here, but anyway, as for his daughter Reser, no one's seen Reser for some time now, but some word has gotten around that she's become an apprentice mage.
Whimsi: *reaches a hand out and gently pats Tabijin on the shoulder.* Trolly-troll.

Taceo: I figured I ought to do something, make my father proud, follow in his footsteps.
Winterr: Mmhmm, I've already went through my coming-of-age ceremony and am now looking to find a herd of my own. The individuals of the guild The Shadow of Paragon are perfectly suiting thus far.
Whimsi: Yes. Dark Lady's orders.
Tabijin: Ah 'ave no choice, gotta keep busy some'ow.

3) Has he/she encountered any traumatizing events?
Taceo: I heard news of my friend becoming lost, missing in action... and then coming face-to-face with her when she returned... as a Death Knight. She was covered in blood from slaying her loyal dragonhawk [you see, she was a hunter before] and I just didn't recognize her at first. I was thinking she was going to lop my head off. *Cringe.*
Winterr: I almost drowned twice, when my trainer was attempting to teach me how to obtain the form of a sea lion.
Whimsi: I once mind-flayed this one gnome, and I got a glimpse of this one memory he had... I watched as he fell off of a cliff face and I was like *levitate* *levitate* *LEVITATE* I kinda forgot I wasn't the one falling. Heeeee... And then, I stole a memory of some Death Knight once, and I saw the dead crawl out of the ground, their faces were nearly rotted off and their skin was hanging off their bones in segments. Eeeee...

Taceo: *Looks to Tabijin* Well, as I was saying. Um... One of Tabijin's friends told him that Zabeni was taken captive by a band of Night Elves after a dwarf and his frostsaber caught her off-guard when she was escorting some new recruits through Ashenvale. Weeks later, Zabeni's tiger, Hexes, showed up in the Barrens, and a young scout reported back with Zabeni's blood-splattered insignia and tattered backpack.

Taceo: When I became an Ambassador of the Horde, as well as an accomplished Explorer. Oh, also when I became an Officer of my guild.
Winterr: The moment I was awarded the rank of Grunt.

Okay, so let's all go head-to-head...

Taceo, holy paladin.
Whimsi, possibly being a holy priest.
Lunette (Alliance) / Winterr (Horde), possibly being restoration druids again.

Now that I can pretty much say I've played these three classes past Burning Crusade, I... well, where do I start?

Heal over Time, HoTs? Over-healing? Usage of Healbot? Getting new gear and thoroughly researching for those pieces that need to be upgraded? Leveling up a healer replacement (Winterr in lieu of Taceo)?

Priests have Fade, Paladins have better survivability... Shamans have totems (might as well throw that out there also). Druids can battle "rez" and have a form specifically designed for healing.

One forum stated paladins are good for healing short fights, druids are best for long fights and priests fall somewhere in-between.

/facepalm.

Maybe I'll just wait for the next patch, and maybe I am easily intimidated when people /target me when we're all idle.

Laceraito and I got bored after doing Hodir dailies... I flew back to Dalaran and she followed, and this is what happens:

Reason one: We try to do battlegrounds together... Earlier this morning, the hunters were discussing the 1337ness of pet arachnids and decided to check out a red-and-green spider I like to refer as "the strawberry spider." We all headed to Shattrath, found the ledge where the [large] creature (which was later dubbed a "tomato" because of it's large abdomen) was located, and we ended up with this:

We then came up with a brilliant idea... so, Gare' drives down to the Sewers, past the 'bar' and through the tunnel that leads out into the Crystalsong Forest air. I just barely manage to see the bike plummet to the ground. Once I brought Lucius down to the forest floor, I find that Garedar had popped his parachute cloak, leaving Spher' dead on the ground. Heh, you should've been there...

And don't worry, I resurrected her while everyone was having quite a chuckle about it.

And now I know that I ought to start capturing these moments, they're great for blogging.

History: Not much is known about this Sin'dorei, but it is a fact that she is an ally of Nikolaos the Blood Knight, Virgos the Shaman, and the guild The Shadow of Paragon. Her father, Sir Mercruceo Morntreader, is a retired ambassador for Silvermoon City; her mother, Aviana Septentrio Morntreader, an assistant innkeeper for Falconwing Square. Her childhood was a happy one even though chaos and destruction often swirled around the globe. Mercruceo was called to duty on several occasions, leaving Taceo and Aviana alone for months at a time. As her mother kept herself occupied with keeping the inn in order, Taceo spent her time playing with her childhood friends, Nikolaos and Laceraito, who lived nearby. The trio enlisted together when they became of age, taking up the roles of a Hunter and Blood Knights. Training side-by-side brought Taceo and Nikolaos to realize their love for one another which in turn brought the announcement of future [but distant] engagement upon the dawning of the Burning Crusade.

By the time of the Wrath of the Lich King in the year 28, Taceo had risen to become an ambassador for the Horde and an acknowledged explorer. With working alongside her guildmates of The Shadow Paragon as well as Nikolaos, she gained the strength and focus on becoming not just a dedicated healer, but also a rather determined retribution paladin (and in the seasons soon after, a protection paladin). Also during this time, she and Nikolaos lost touch with Laceraito and assumed she had been lost somewhere in Outland. Once they had come to terms with the loss of their childhood friend, Laceraito emerged as a Death Knight, much to their dismay. Then, several months after their re-acquaintance, Laceraito disappeared once again, leaving Taceo and Nikolaos to continue pillaging and training as they had before.

The armored steed she summons for traveling is "Noctem" and the large albino dragon she beckons for flight is "Lucius," both of whom tote her backpacks as to keep her shoulders and back free of burden. She strikes as the ‘lawful good,’ actually oblivious to her desire for power and domination.

Personality: Taceo is somewhat of a two-sided character; she can be kind to someone, and then absolutely loathsome towards another. While around those she knows, she is light-hearted, sometimes bubbly and outgoing; but most of the time, she keeps to herself unless something has to be said or done. Most of the time, she is read as stuck-up; often cheeky, quiet, reserved and sarcastic. She is nice enough, however, to sometimes buff others as she strolls past or give an answer to those in desperation.

Appearance: Vivid emerald eyes peer out from underneath thick, straight black locks that frame this beauty's face. Her fair skin, due to long periods of completing training missions as a Blood Knight, has become tan from the sun. During the evening hours, she can sometimes be seen emitting an eerie ghost-like glow. From head to toe, she is clad in mismatched armor made from cloth, chainmail and plate. Two silver studs and an emerald gem sparkle in each of her tall pointed ears as three rings adorn her fingers (a pure truesilver one on her left ring finger, and two on her right, one of which bears her jewelcrafting signature). Usually perched on her shoulder or clucking at her heels is a small grey hen which she refers to as "Zoom." Hanging from her belt is a lightweight mining pick, as well as a satchel full of palm-sized bottles which softly clink against each other when she runs.
